On the last day of Term 1, Friday the 16th of April 2021, we had our first Teacher Only Day (TOD) at Glen Taylor School as part of the Manaiakalani Kāhui Ako toolkits.  The focus was primarily on Reading Literacy. Up to 30 educators pulled together to run 45 minute workshops throughout the day to teach teachers reading literacy strategies that were able to be implemented immediately into our practices. What was important for me, however, was that all of them were either teaching and/or living in our community. Who better to learn from than our very own? These educators know our tauira, our community, our successes and our challenges.
